The Details
Small – £13.80 per week. Suitable for 1-2 people, the small box will contain at least 6 different seasonal items each week.
Large – £20.70 per week. Suitable for 3-4 people, the large box will contain at least 9 different seasonal items each week.
Some weeks there may be an extra item if the plants are growing well and there is surplus, or seasonal goodies such as rhubarb! An “item” will be approximately 500g of leafy greens, 1kg root vegetables, a punnet of tomatoes etc…
Availability and Pick Up
The boxes scheme will start in mid-May, when we are past the last frost date, and will run for 22 weeks from May-October, with specific start and end dates announced closer to May. If produce continues to grow well into November then we we will offer a short extended share.
Pick up will be weekly, either from The Pantry at Rush Farm or the Elmfield School Cafe in Stourbridge. The exact day of the week will be set closer to the start date.
Add-ons
You will be notified of availability for these add-ons a few days before collection day each week with individual pricing, and you can always order some one week and not the next.
Add-ons include: Grass fed, biodynamic and Organic Rush Farm meat as well as organic store cupboard stables including cans, rice and pasta from Suma available on a monthly basis. Organic, high welfare and pasteurised/unhomogenised milk from Wicton Farm. Bread and pastries from Worcester based artisan baker Peter Cook will be available weekly, and Rush Farm fresh-cut flowers will be available weekly in season.
What's in a Box?
There will always be two “bulk” items, such as carrots, potatoes, and onions, sourced from Phoenix Organics. The rest will be seasonal items from Rush Farm, many of which you won’t find in supermarkets, such as delicious tatsoi greens, summer purslane, and candy-striped beetroot. Below are examples of what you can expect in your box throughout the seasons. Phoenix Organics are a Worcestershire based organic vegetable wholesaler with an excellent reputation and very good provenance for all their produce, so you know your Rush Farm veg box will have minimal environmental impact.
May: Small – lettuce, radishes, mustard greens, coriander, rhubarb + carrots and potatoes from Phoenix. Large– lettuce, radishes, mustard greens, coriander, beetroot, pak choi, turnips, rhubarb + carrots and potatoes.
July: Small – courgettes, spinach, tomatoes, basil + broccoli and onions from Phoenix. Large – courgettes, spinach, tomatoes, basil, french beans, fennel, purslane + broccoli and onions.
September: Small – chicory, chard, beetroot, winter squash + carrots and mushrooms from Phoenix. Large – chicory, chard, beetroot, winter squash, parsley, rocket, spring onions + carrots and mushrooms.
Payment
We use a trusted system to process all payments. When you sign up to one of our veg boxes you will make an account which will enable you to customise orders, pause deliveries for holidays, see future orders and contact us easily.
Vacation Policy
We appreciate that some weeks you may be away or unable to collect your box. In these circumstances, there are two options available. The first, and simplest, is to ask a friend to collect it for you. The second, you can request to change your pick up day to earlier in the week, or alternatively you can double up your boxes one week if you are away the preceding or following week. However, we ask that with the latter options that you only do this twice throughout the season, otherwise it will interfere with the harvest schedule.
